Complete List of Skottie Young Baby Variant Covers from Marvel (Photos of Each, Updated 6/11))

This post was updated on June 11th to add all the new Skottie Young Baby Variant Covers.

Skottie Young has blown up in the last couple years, both as the writer for the hit Rocket Raccoon series for Marvel that came on the heels of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, but also for his “baby variants.” This is where he takes your popular Marvel characters and portrays them as devious babies, which are some of the most popular variant covers that we have seen from Marvel. This is not a new concept, and Skottie Young has been doing baby versions for Marvel for years, as well as for other companies, but his “Young Variant Covers” is a new thing that began in 2012 and was initially just for the first issues of a few relaunches. Now there are over seventy of these Young Variant Covers with baby versions of the characters, a collection that continues to grow as Marvel continuously releases new comics regularly. There has not been a complete list of these variants so far, so we compiled from available information the complete list of over seventy Young Variant Covers for Marvel. This list is as of April 24th, 2015, and the number will continue to increase from here. This is especially true with the coming Secret Wars event and the subsequent new comics that will come afterwards.

Right now there are exactly 139 Skottie Young Baby Variant Covers for Marvel.  There are a lot of other great “baby” cover work done by Skottie Young however that aren’t a part of this.  These include some of the What if? stuff for Marvel, the recent Spawn #250 cover, and the cover for Revival #12.

We did our best to include Secret Wars covers from Marvel’s large event for 2015.  There have been a small handful released, but most of them have still yet to have been made public(possibly not finished at all at the time of the first writing).

As part of my own indulgence, I am including photos from my personal collection of these variants, which I am collecting obsessively.  So each photo that is of an actual comic is from my personal collection.

One sure fire way to know if it is a Skottie Young cover is that he will sign it on the cover with an SY in a little box.  This is different, however, than how he actually signs a physical comic when doing signings.

Awesome List dude. But you missed a couple of the older more rare Skottie Young Covers. Such as:
Marvel Now What#1? (pretty rare) — Avengers vs X-men Round 1 Midtown exclusive (this is super rare) —— Amazing Spiderman #9 Reprint (with Stan Lee on cover) (pretty rare).

Thanks for writing this list..I have all but 3 of them, but there were 2 on here I didn’t know about. It’s not easy to keep track of these especially when you live in a small town like me where we don’t get many variant covers. I think you may also have missed a few that haven’t been mentioned yet.
