Many people have a soft spot for the Gotham Central books, which focus on the police that interact with Batman in Gotham. This has seen a recent back surge because the premise, and much of the style, was taken over for the Gotham television show. The book itself from Ed Brubaker, Greg Rucka, and Michael Lark is one of the most innovative and readable spin-off books in all of DC history, yet it did not have the long-standing run that you see with many older Bat-titles. With a total 40-issue run, the series was primed for a one-volume collection.

DC Comics has just announced that there will be a complete Omnibus edition, which is a mammoth sized hardcover book that will collect every famed issue. These Omnibus editions have proven popular in recent years, even though they are often a good display or high-end collectors piece than a book that you can easily take with you.
