The reboot of Archie is almost here, which has been getting people talking in fevered gasps ever since Mark Waid and Fiona Staples became attached to the project.  The idea here is to update the Archie universe to fit a more contemporary teenage experience, which came after the relevance of Archie itself was increased with Afterlife With Archie and Sabrina.  This will be the first release in a list of several, which were announced with a catastrophic attempt by Archie publishing to run a Kickstarter campaign to up the release date.  This includes updates of Betty and Veronica, Kevin Keller, and Jughead, which will be from Sex Criminals artist Chip Zdarsky.

In celebration of this mega-reboot for Archie, they have announced a massive line-up of 22 variant covers for the first issue.  This is following the (not so) new trend to have massive variants up the sales numbers of first issues, though this goes above and beyond.  While no one is really planning on picking up all 22, it does provide a few fun options for the one you are going to get.
