As we get deeper into Marvel’s 2015 massive event Secret Wars, many people are happy with it acting as a philosophically driven end to Jonathan Hickman’s Avengers and New Avengers runs. This is especially true when compared to the very similar DC Convergence, which has been lackluster most of the way through. Now with Secret Wars #3 we are really starting to see how this universe shift is taking place, and it will only be helped by a slew of tie-ins that draw on the best periods in Marvel’s history. As with the previous two issues, the Secret Wars #3 variant covers attempt to give collectors a few real options so as to boost sales. This may be a marketing ploy, but one we gladly buy into.
