Tomorrow we are getting our first official preview of a large number of the new series that Marvel will be releasing after the end of Secret Wars. Many of the covers were leaked ahead of time, but now that we have the details on these new series it is really opening up what is coming.
There are a number of big surprises. The most obvious of these is how many new series are being relaunched with a #1. Howard the Duck, Silk, Spider-Gwen, A-Force, Thor, and many others are jumping back to #1. With comics like Thor it makes the brief interlude that focused on the reveal of the new female Thor was just a miniseries used to promote this coming series, which may be a testament to its over extended mystery. Hawkeye from Jeff Lemire will continue, but, again, with new numbering.
The other big suprise is who is going to be on these new titles. Jeff Lemire handling the Avengers. Brian Michael Bendis returning to Spider-Man. Charles Soule taking over the reigns of Daredevil. James Robinson taking Squadron Supreme to Golden Age perspectives, which is his specialty. Likewise, Old Man Logan is going to become a regular series that actually seems like it may work. We also know that the new Wolverine will be a woman, which is a really nice turn for the Marvel universe.
Check out the list below that lists all of the currently revealed titles with their associated creators.
