One of Dark Horse’s most surprise hits is coming back for a sequel!
Lady Killer, the story of a 1950s housewife that doubles as a contract hit-person, was a five-issue miniseries in 2015 that was popular beyond anticipation. By the time the second issue came out, the first issue was going for triple its cover price on eBay. The sales can be attributed to the dynamite creative team of Jamie S. Rich, Joelle Jones, and Laura Allred. The story flowed with an almost perfect beat and featured some of the best art of the year, a mix of detailed line-work and popping colors that are among the best Allred had ever done.
After the success of the first series, a second arc was bound to be on the way. Now Dark Horse Comics has released the solicit for the first issue of Lady Killer 2, to be released on August 3rd.
The killer housewife is back! The Schuller family has moved to Cocoa Beach, Florida, where life carries on as usual. Josie continues to juggle Tupperware parties, her kids, and a few human heads. However, when someone from her past tails her on a hit, she may be in for more than she bargained for. ‘Lady Killer is worth its weight in gold for the art alone, but the enigmatic Josie Schuller is the real appeal.
This might be one issue you should pre-order now, especially since Discount Comic Book Service is running a special at 50% of the cover price. This is also one series where original art is going to go big, especially for pages of the first series. If you check the price of the original miniseries online, the numbers are already starting to grow!
